Pallet AI connector
Get LTL freight quotes from your Pallet carriers inside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI apps. Describe the shipment in plain words. The AI app asks Pallet for quotes and shows them to you.
https://api.usepallet.com/mcpThe connector uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP). You sign in with your Pallet account. You do not need an API key.
What you need
- A Pallet account for shippers or brokers. If you do not have one, you can sign up when you connect.
- At least one carrier on the account, or public rates turned on for the account. Pallet quotes with the carriers on your account and, if public rates are on, with carriers that publish public rates. Add carriers at app.usepallet.com. An account admin turns on public rates in Account Settings, under Public Rates.
- An AI app that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in.
Carrier accounts that publish tariffs in Pallet cannot connect.
Connect your AI app
Claude (web, desktop and mobile)
- Open Settings → Connectors.
- Click Add custom connector.
- Enter the name
Palletand the URLhttps://api.usepallet.com/mcp. Leave the OAuth fields empty. - Click Connect. A Pallet page opens.
- Sign in or sign up. Then click Allow.
On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector for the organization first.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings → Apps.
- Create a new app with the URL
https://api.usepallet.com/mcpand OAuth authentication. - Sign in to Pallet when ChatGPT asks. Then click Allow.
ChatGPT can require developer mode for apps that are not in its directory yet.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http pallet https://api.usepallet.com/mcp
Then run /mcp in Claude Code and select pallet to sign in.
Cursor
Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or to .cursor/mcp.json in a project:
{
"mcpServers": {
"pallet": {
"url": "https://api.usepallet.com/mcp"
}
}
}
Cursor opens the Pallet sign-in page in your browser.
Other AI apps
Use the URL https://api.usepallet.com/mcp with the Streamable HTTP transport.
The app finds the sign-in server automatically through the standard MCP OAuth discovery.
Get a quote
Give the AI app the pickup and delivery locations and the items. Include postal codes: most carriers need them to quote. The AI app asks for any missing details. Examples:
Quote with accessorials
Quote 2 pallets, 48x40x50 in, 500 lb each, from Toronto, ON M5V 2T6
to Chicago, IL 60601. Liftgate at delivery.
If you do not give a freight class, the AI app works out the density and asks Pallet for a recommended class.
Metric units
Get LTL rates for 1 pallet, 120x100x150 cm, 400 kg, class 85,
from Mississauga, ON L5T 2N7 to Calgary, AB T2C 4T6.
Get a saved quote again
Show me the quotes for Pallet quote request 154 again.
Some carriers answer after 20 seconds. The AI app then gets their quotes with the same tool. The reason that a carrier gave no quote shows only on the first result.
Requests that Pallet does not handle
Pallet does not book or track shipments, and it does not quote parcel, full truckload or ocean freight. For example, the AI app does not use Pallet for "Book the cheapest quote" or "Where is my shipment?".
Each quote is saved in your Pallet account. You can open it later at app.usepallet.com and book it there.

The connector cannot book shipments, change your carriers or change your account settings.
Dimensions and weights are in inches and pounds, or in centimetres and kilograms if you ask for metric units.
Permissions
The sign-in page asks you to let the AI app get freight quotes for your Pallet account. This is the OAuth scope
rate. It also lets the app read the quote requests of the account. The connector acts as the user who signed in, for the account that
was active at sign-in.
What the AI app can see
- The quotes that it requests, and quote requests on your account if it knows their ID.
- For each quote: the carrier, the service level, the costs, the currency and the transit days. Some carriers do not return a currency.
- On a broker account, the quote prices include the broker's margin.
- On a client account of a broker, the quote prices also include the broker's margin. The connector does not show the margin or the broker's carrier cost.
The AI app does not get your password or your carrier credentials. The AI provider handles what you type in the chat under its own privacy policy. See the Pallet privacy policy for how Pallet handles your data.
Limits
- LTL quotes only. Locations in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
- A quote waits up to 20 seconds for the carriers. If some carriers answer later, the AI app gets their quotes
with
get_quote_request. - Quotes count toward the quote limit of your account: 60 each minute.
- The connector accepts 120 requests each minute for each account.
Disconnect
- Remove the Pallet connector in your AI app.
- Pallet sign-in sessions for AI apps end after 90 days, or after 30 days without use. Then the app asks you to sign in again.
- If a user leaves your Pallet account, their AI app connections stop at once.
- To end a connection on the Pallet side, email support@usepallet.com.
Troubleshooting
The AI app says there are no quotes
Check that your account has carriers, or public rates on, and that they serve the lane. The AI app shows the reason for each carrier that returned no quote.
The sign-in page says the request is not valid
The sign-in request expires after 10 minutes. Start the connection again from your AI app.
The sign-in page shows a warning that Pallet has not checked the app
Pallet shows this warning for apps that it does not recognize. Click Allow only if you started the connection yourself, from an app that you trust.
